He made his comeback in the grasscourt season in June 2023 where he played a singles match at the 2023 Stuttgart Open but he sustained a wrist injury during his first-round loss against China’s Yibing Wu.He has been sidelined since then and hasn't featured in any of the Grand Slam in 2023 and missed this year’s Australian Open too. However, after a long wait, it seems that Kyrgios’ comeback is just a matter of time.The Aussie posted a couple of pictures on his Instagram stories where he traded a couple of hits and looked in good condition."First hit in 8 months after wrist surgery. Slowly, I'm coming baby,” Kyrgios posted on Instagram. Kyrgios posted on his Instagram story. Remember, earlier in an interview, Kyrgios revealed that he will not be playing till the age of 33.The 28-year-old has had a history of drinking and partying and he recently talked about the physical demands of the game.“No f****** chance. No way. Bro, there's no chance I'm playing until 33,” he replied. “Kyrgios playing until 33 is insane. I'm not playing until 33. Nah, I promise you, when I'm gone, you'll never see me again. The schedule is out of control. I'm getting old, I'm getting old. 28, yeah - but all the drinking and partying, I'm like 57.”It must be noted that Kyrgios is one of the most talented players in tennis who would try something new every time he is in action but is known to have a bad temperament.
